Villains and Heroes
The Associated Press just took one of its perennial New Year’s Eve polls, asking questions like “Who was the biggest villain this past year?”
George Bush was the biggest villain. More Americans said President Bush was a villain, than said Osama Bin Laden, Saddam Hussein, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (Iran’s nuclear arms building President) and Kim Jong II, combined. President Bush even got more votes for biggest villain than Satan, who for the record just got one percent.
Who was the biggest hero?
There’s some solace for President Bush here. He was ‘the biggest hero’ too. But only with thirteen percent of the vote. Our soldiers in Iraq were second with six percent. Oprah and Barack Obama tied Jesus Christ for third with 3%. Rock-star Bono was just an eyelash behind our Lord with two percent.
The same day the poll was published the newspapers reported Donald Trump calling Rosie O’Donnell “a mental midget, a low-life.” He added, “It’s too bad a degenerate is able to get away with things like that.” Then, to add insult to injury, he went on Larry King and threatened to woo Rosie’s ‘partner,’ Kelli Carpenter, “away from her.”
Neither Rosie or Trump got any votes.
What’s wrong with this picture?
It’s a shock but Americans think our President is a greater villain than terrorists or dictators.
