The Wrong Message

Gary, doggone it, it’s like ‘déjà vu all over again’ – here you are [see below] attacking me for a TV ad. Can’t a fellow even oppose the Ground Zero mosque without being called a bigoted skunk? And how did the folks opposing the mosque become the wicked, hard-hearted ‘dividers’ as opposed to the Iman who decided to put a mosque in the one place on earth that was sure to make 200 or so million Americans mad?

I reckon you’re inclined to give Iman Rauf the benefit of the doubt because he says he’s a moderate but I have a suspicion you may have been hoodwinked by the Muslim version of a TV preacher, who’s figured out having the franchise to build a mosque at Ground Zero is going to be worth untold millions once the contributions start rolling in from across the Muslim world.  (And who won’t release his contributors so we can see who’s sending the money for his mosque.)

The nation’s top counter-terrorism officials just reported the threat from within – of Americans willing to commit terrorist acts – is growing. And they cited examples: The bomb plot to blow up the New York subway, the Fort Hood gunman, the attempted Northwest Airline bombing on Christmas Day and the Times Square bombing.

President Obama set out to close Gitmo and put terrorists on trial in New York City and now he’s endorsed the Ground Zero mosque. The message America’s sending the world isn’t bigotry – it’s weakness. And that’s the wrong message right now.
