Who Is Fred Davis?
May 25, 2012 - by
Davis is Pat McCrory’s ad man. He made headlines recently for advocating controversial ads attacking President Obama over Jeremiah Wright, as Carter noted in his blog below, “The Pirates and a Chicago Billionaire.”
Democrats, predictably, are calling for McCrory to fire Davis. Hold the mayo. Maybe it would be better for Walter Dalton if McCrory keeps him.
Davis made Elizabeth Dole’s infamous “atheist” ad against Senator Hagan in 2008. Dole not only lost, she exited political life with her reputation forever sullied.
According to Time, Davis lives in a $2 million Hollywood mansion that “looks like an A-list actor’s bachelor pad.” An adviser to John McCain, who Davis worked for in 2008, said: “Fred is a creative guy, but he requires round-the-clock adult supervision. If you take your eyes off him for a moment, you’re chasing demon sheep, witches and the yellow peril.”
Might Davis do for McCrory what he did for Elizabeth Dole?
