This is politics: Two clans – Showman and Washington Politicians. One struts, lies. The other connives. Hot headed followers kowtow to Trump. Washington Politicians cut deals. Meantime, there’s inflation, tottering banks, and China’s joined arms with Russia.

If you ask people, in a poll, Is politics broken? almost everyone nods, Yes. A rare case of Americans agreeing.

If next you ask: Who’s to blame – Republicans, Democrats, or both? most people say ‘Both.’ But not everyone. There’s a tribe of Democrats who only blame Republicans. And a tribe of Republicans who only blame Democrats. Both tribes are small. But they’re all over social media. And they have power in primaries. A Republican Congressman running in a Republican district isn’t going to blame ‘both’ because that lands him in a fight in a primary.

Politics is broken but we’re trapped between two clans.
