A Tapster submitted this blog about the John Edwards verdict.:

The John Edwards verdict hopefully ends a decade-long parade of Democrats doing the perp walk to federal and state courthouses to atone for political and financial misdeeds.  Our ears ring from the sound of judges’ gavels banging down on the careers of Mike Easley, Jim Black, Ruffin Poole, blah blah blah, ad nauseum.

Have Republicans learned anything? If they control state politics for the rest of the decade as expected, it will be interesting to see if federal and state courtrooms fill with their leaders who get swept up in power and money and forget that laws apply to them and they are neither invisible nor invincible.

By the way, let’s all promise each other to never speak of John Edwards again, ok? We all dread the inevitable N&O “Rise and Fall” story which none of us will read because we are all sick of this arrogant narcissist who is a bad man, was a really bad Senator and brought shame to our state.
