Art Pope is both a good target for Democrats and a good choice for Governor-elect McCrory.
Democrats get to skewer him as a rich, right-wing puppet master who will pull McCrory’s strings while running and ruining North Carolina.
McCrory gets three things: Pope knows the budget in and out. He knows how Raleigh works. And Republican legislators know that he has taken out apostates before, so they’ll be less likely to defy the Governor.
Democrats, of course, decry what Pope’s role will mean for the state. But elections have consequences, and one is that the Governor gets to pick the people he wants to push his agenda.
One question remains. Pope says he will sever all ties with his vast right-wing conspiracy, but he didn’t say whether he, his family and their foundations will keep funding it. It doesn’t matter that he’s off the boards but still controls the cash.

Art Pope is the devil incarnate for democrats in North Carolina. He has funded just so many conservative republican efforts including McCrory’s efforts so, he’s evil…a horrible individual. Gary has posted a slew of posts against his involvement in republican political dealings in North Carolina because…well, let’s face it…he supports the “other side”.

Democrats that have money in North Carolina have tried to get involved in democratic political ventures and so forth…national unions have also tried to make their presence here and have donated money to liberal/progressive democratic candidates here. But, Art Pope and his efforts have prevailed. That just HAS to have Gary Pearce’s panties in a bunch, so to speak. Thus the presentations he makes, of course. North Carolina isn’t today following along the line of the CNN and CBS and MSNBC vision for America. Gary and his democrats are. Sorry Mr. Pearce. But for now…and I say “for now” for a reason…you’re not fairing out well in North Carolina. Perhaps as the national mood moves more toward the “progressive” vision for America and when North Carolina moves in that direction, you’ll realize a greater amount of fame and recognition and, in the end, more wealth.

Gee, isn’t is funny that swinney’s posts are presented right after what I’ve posted? Does he have some inside track here with what is posted on the front page? If I didn’t know better, I’d think this was actually Gary Pearce, y’know? There are some very strange “coincidences” with regard to these swinney posts along the way. Wonder if Carter has seen/noticed that. Hopefully we’re not seeing some kind of slick maneuvering on the TAP blogsite here.

In any case, anyone that actually buys what our boy swinney says is a total and complete idiot.

Each post is time stamped. Swinney is not Pearce and he doesn’t have any special privileges on here. I can assure you that.
