Here I was thinking that Tom Fetzer, Thom Tillis and Phil Berger were the brains behind the Republican victory in the 2010 legislative races.

Here’s the dirty little secret consultants don’t want you to know: They’re like ants on a log going down a raging river. They act like – and want you to believe – they’re steering. Actually, they’re just holding on for dear life.
