Old people watch for signs: Pains shooting down a man’s arm, a hardly discernible lump in a woman’s breast, all either portents of disaster or false alarms and in politics there’re signs too: Like Roy out-raising Pat by $1.2 million. $5.1 million to $3.9 million.
A portent? Or a hiccup?
Roy raising more money than Pat is a long way from the final word in the election and, in other ways, Pat’s ahead of Roy. He aired the first TV ad and, in my corner of the world, he’s on Social Media a lot more than Roy.
But, still, $5.1 to $3.9. It’s a troubling sign. No one has ever seen a challenger raise more money than a sitting Governor before.
