Rolling Downhill
The first minister, speaking at the National Prayer Breakfast, looked across the room full of Washington politicians who’d been eye-gouging one another since the day Trump took office and made a suggestion: Why not try a bit of “love your enemies.”
President Trump stood up next and spoke.
I don’t know that I agree with you, Trump replied bluntly – then he punched Mitt Romney and, after taking a breath, slammed Nancy Pelosi.
Pelosi didn’t have much “love your neighbor” in her either – she blasted Trump back saying, He’s talking about two things he knows little about: prayer and faith.
Another minister, the chaplain leading a prayer in the Senate during the final days of the Impeachment Trial, looked out on the politicians sitting in front of him but he didn’t offer a suggestion – instead he said bluntly: Remember: We always reap what we sow.
