Another Associated Press Fact Check

I’d like to see President Trump take the Associated Press head on.

In another ‘Fact Check’ the AP said President Trump lied three times at the Davos Forum in Switzerland.

At a press conference, Trump said he’d ‘saved HBCU’s’ (Historically Black Colleges and Universities). The AP called that ‘a big stretch.’ It said HBCU’s were not dying and Trump ‘was not their savior.’

Rambling, Trump had also said, ‘We have the greatest economy in the history of our country.’ AP said that was flat-our ‘False.’ It said that during the 1990’s growth topped 4% for four straight years and in 1984 growth soared 7.2% in a single year – while under Trump in 2018 the economy grew by 2.8%.

Finally, Trump had boasted he’d pulled off ‘the two biggest trade deals ever made.’ The AP called that ‘False’ too – adding that 123 countries who made up 90% of the world’s economy had signed the World Trade Organization’s Uruguay Round in 1994.

Reading that AP’s article reminded me of the question Judge Gavin had asked Mike (the pro-Trumper) and Vic (the anti-Trumper) at lunch about impeachment: Who’s lying? And why?

If President Trump tackles the AP head on we might find out who – and, more important, why.
