GOP convention: a big deal?

Conventional wisdom seems to be that only a “brokered convention” can stop Donald Trump. Presumably, the party elders and wise men (no females allowed) would brush aside the results of these pesky primaries and caucuses and select one of their own as the candidate. A Romney, Ryan or McConnell.

Really?

Would delegates chosen in primaries and caucuses that overwhelmingly favored Trump or Ted Cruz bow down to the establishment – the much-loathed Washington politicians, the even-more-loathed insiders and lobbyists, the people who bet on Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio?

Instead of a “brokered convention,” maybe it becomes an “open convention.” That’s one where the delegates debate and decide. And where deals are made.

Sounds perfect for Trump.
