Crazy in the Opposite Direction

Yesterday I described how, when President Trump goes on a tear, Democratic activists go a little crazy and morph into mirror images of Trump only on the opposite end of the political spectrum.

Just before the election Trump tweeted, I’m a nationalist, ok? I’m a nationalist. Then at a White House press conference a PBS reporter stood up and asked Trump, Does that give aid to white supremacists?

In a PBS reporter’s eyes Trump being a nationalist morphed into Trump supporting racism.

A similar thing happened when Cesar Sayoc mailed pipe bombs to Democratic leaders from Hillary to Obama to George Soros: A former Hillary aide (aiming at Trump) tweeted, This is on you, and, in the next breath, talking heads were pointing fingers of blame at Trump on MSNBC and CNN.

Sin breeds sin and, in physics, every action breeds an equal and opposite reaction. And the same holds true in politics: When Trump goes crazy in one direction, Trump-haters go equally crazy in the opposite direction.
