My wife is a remarkable woman with an eerily perfect sense of timing – for instance, she went into labor with our first child while sitting in her doctor’s waiting room. After that, things got more hectic.
When we got to the hospital and the doctor walked into Page’s hospital room he looked so young I literally asked, Have you done this before? By sunset I had summoned no less than four doctors to the hospital for what, looking back, was an extremely ordinary delivery. That night leaving the hospital I climbed into my car and thought, Well, that’s over and thank God. And promptly backed straight into a concrete pillar.
Today, in George Holding’s campaign we’re taking a poll and waiting for the results, which aren’t ‘due’ until morning, is a bit like waiting while your wife is in labor – there’s not much you can do other than sit and make reassuring noises and avoid driving into concrete pillars.
