Watching Democrats and abortion rights win across the country Tuesday night, I tweeted: “Just a reminder that Mark Robinson and NC Republicans want a total ban on abortion, including in cases of rape and incest.”

Several Republicans tweeted back, “That’s a lie.”

One said, “It’s a lie. Please stop.”

No. It’s true. And I won’t stop.

“Let’s say I was the governor and had a willing legislature, we could pass a bill saying you can’t have an abortion in North Carolina for any reason.”

After Tuesday’s elections, Robinson and Republicans no doubt will lie about abortion.

They lied before.

Four Republican legislators said in 2022 they wouldn’t vote for new abortion restrictions.

Then, in 2023, they did.

They are Rep. Ted Davis of Wilmington, Rep. John Bradford of Cornelius, Sen. Michael Lee of Wrightsville Beach and party-switcher/abortion-rights-betrayer Rep. Tricia Cotham of Charlotte.

Republicans will lie about banning abortion, then they‘ll do it.

And that’s no lie.
