First, Congress gave money to the NEA (the National Endowment of the Arts), then the NEA gave out grants: It gave a theater company in Minneapolis $40,000 to support a series of transgender theater works – like a play “explaining the gender continuum through the prism of a pre-pubescent transgender biracial girl.”
The Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles received $10,000. The Feminist Press in New York got $30,000.
Once, years ago, the Heritage Foundation described NEA grants as ‘welfare for political elites.’ But how could this happen when we have a Republican Congress, a Republican President and a huge deficit?
