Mark Robinson should get an Emmy for Most Appearances in Other Campaigns’ TV Ads.
For months, he has starred in Josh Stein’s ads, admonishing women who didn’t “keep your skirt down” and warning that “some folks need killing.”
Stein’s ads drove Robinson’s negative ratings so high that every Democrat from Kamala Harris down is linking their opponent to him and his extremism, especially his support for a total ban on abortion.
A Harris ad shows Donald Trump telling a rally that Robinson “has been an unbelievable lieutenant governor.”
Well, we can certainly agree with that.
Trump adds, “I think you’re better than Martin Luther King.”
Jeff Jackson notes that his opponent for attorney general, Dan Bishop, pledged to be Robinson’s “sidekick” in Raleigh.
Supreme Court Justice Allison Riggs’ ad says, “Mark Robinson says he wants to ban abortion with no exceptions. My opponent can decide if his ban becomes law.”
And several Democratic legislative candidates tie their opponents to Robinson.

Her ad calls her opponent, Hal Weatherman, “worse than Mark Robinson.”
Hunt says, “I’ll take on extremism in state government, and since I’m moving into Mark Robinson’s office, I’ll start with a gallon of this,” as she holds up a mop and a big jug of hydrogen peroxide cleaner.
Republicans are squawking that the ad is unfair and insulting.
No, what’s insulting is that they nominated for North Carolina’s highest executive office a man who is so grossly unfit and unqualified.
Forget the porn stuff. He didn’t do his job. He presided over the Senate only when cameras were rolling. He missed many meetings of the State Board of Education, State Board of Community Colleges and Council of State – all of which he is a member, by law.
After Hurricane Helene, he couldn’t be troubled to vote on a disaster declaration. He spent his time grandstanding, posing for pictures and taking potshots at the heroes working hard to save people and restore communities.
It truly will be justice if Robinson costs Republicans not only the governor’s race and a slew of statewide and legislative races, but also, ultimately, the Presidency itself.
He can file all the lawsuits he wants, but he can’t wipe away the stain he leaves.
