Years of political battles taught me this: You ain’t beat ‘til you quit.

There’s too much quit in the Democratic Party right now.

Yes, President Biden’s poll numbers are perilous, and pressures on him to quit are enormous.

Still, I’m not convinced that Vice President Kamala Harris would be a stronger candidate, even if she picked Governor Roy Cooper as her running mate, which would be the right choice.

I am convinced that, if she isn’t the nominee, the Democratic Party’s most loyal voters will rebel.

Whatever happens, Democrats need to remember there is a clear path to victory: a ruthless, relentless attack on Trump, Vance, Mark Robinson, MAGA and Project 2025 – on the ISSUES.

Voters know that Trump is a loathsome human being, just as they know Biden is old.

They don’t know what our nation – and the world – are in for if Trump wins and his MAGA crowd takes power.

This is no time for positive or even comparative messaging. It has to be 100% focused on what will happen to people if Trump wins.

We have to spell out the Trump-MAGA-Project 2025 agenda with clarity and specificity.

For starters, as this report in Capitol Broadcasting Company’s daily opinion digest shows, abortion will be criminalized, support for public education will be gutted, clean air and water regulations will be shredded, millions of men, women and children will be rounded up and deported, and Ukraine, maybe all Europe, will be turned over to Putin.

Oh, the media will tut-tut about “negative ads.” No, the ads won’t be negative; they’ll be about the negative consequences of Trump 2.

Republicans will plead foul, because they know how voters will react when they know the facts.

Ignore them. Tell the truth. Get the facts to the American people.

Stop attacking Biden and other Democrats. Start attacking Trump and Republicans.
