Why are House Speakers from North Carolina obsessed with office size?
N.C. Congressman Patrick McHenry, the Interim U.S. House Speaker with the big gavel and little bowtie, kicked former Speaker Nancy Pelosi out of her Capitol office.
He was mad because Pelosi and the Democrats didn’t rescue House Republicans from their circular firing squad.
In the N.C. House, Speaker Tim Moore banished Rep. Terence Everitt of Wake County to a tiny janitor’s closet in the Legislative Building’s basement.
Moore was mad because Everitt asked the district attorney to investigate the Speaker over an affair with a state employee.
McHenry and Moore made their targets look bigger and themselves smaller.
Just call them Tiny Tim and Petty Patrick.
