The Real Mark Robinson
Lt. Governor Mark Robinson’s “response” to Governor Roy Cooper’s State of the State – it actually was pre-taped – was choreographed to make him seem reasonable and responsible.
Then he spoke at Trinity Baptist Church in Mooresville one recent Sunday.
He unleashed, again, on LGBTQ people – and on pastors who welcome them:
“Makes me sick every time I see it, when I pass a church that flies that rainbow flag, which is a direct spit in the face to God Almighty.”
In Robinson’s telling, those pastors are saying, “We’re going to love, we’re going to accept everybody, and we’re going to accept anything. I’m going to fly a rainbow flag out front and spit right in the face of God.”
In John 13:34, Jesus said, “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.”
That Gospel apparently was not part of Robinson’s speech.
