Whatever Happened to the presidential Debates?
April 5, 2012 - by
Two months ago the Republican Presidential Primary was rolling along like a locomotive fueled by Presidential debates on CNN, Fox and MSNBC; those debates flattened Rick Perry, gave birth to Herman Cain, created the Gingrich boomlet then propelled Santorum past Gingrich as the alternative to Mitt Romney.
The debates gave Republican voters looking for an alternative to Romney (among Romney’s underfunded opponents) a way to hear and see and pick their candidate – then the unexpected happened.
The debates vanished. And the election changed. In a simple way: Suddenly, Mitt Romney’s fundraising prowess has become a bigger and bigger force in the primaries.
