There’s no reasoning with Trump and MAGA, but there’s a good reason President Biden isn’t “weaponizing” the Justice Department to knock Trump out of the 2024 race: Trump is the Republican Biden is most likely to beat.

As 2016 showed, there are no certainties in politics. Trump could win and execute his plan to vastly expand – and abuse – presidential power, unchecked by the courts, Congress or the Constitution. (See link below.)

But odds are that this unhinged, incompetent, twice-impeached and now twice-indicted one-term disaster of an ex-President will lose.

Most any other Republican would be harder to beat. Except Ron DeSantis, who rivals Ted Cruz and Tommy Tuberville as the most unlikable person in politics.

In his hysterical response to a looming third criminal indictment, Trump posted, “THIS WITCH HUNT IS ALL ABOUT ELECTION INTERFERENCE… AND POLITICAL WEAPONIZATION OF LAW ENFORCEMENT.”

Part of what he said there is – inadvertently – true. He’s being investigated for trying to steal the 2020 election. Which is another reason he’d likely lose to Biden.

Despite the obvious risks to America, Trump could be a big boost to Democrats across the country and in North Carolina in 2024.
