Those To Whom Evil Is Done

Call it an eye for an eye or a man (a politician) who does evil because evil was done to him – either way it’s an old tale.

Russians using fake Facebook accounts to attack Hillary – that was the evil that was done; then Matt Osborne (the politician) did evil in return: During the Alabama Special Senate Election he set up a fake Facebook page where Democrats, claiming to be Baptist teetotalers, told swing voters that Judge Roy Moore meant to turn back the clock to Prohibition and ban liquor in Alabama.

After Osborne’s Facebook ads attacking Moore were ‘viewed’ 4.6 million times and his videos were watched 430,000 times, the New York Times asked him if what he’d done was right. Without blinking Osborne shot back, “If you don’t do it, you’re fighting with one hand tied behind your back. You have a moral imperative to do this – to do whatever it takes.”

So who won? Democrats? Republicans? Both? Neither?

The answer is: Russians.

The Russians planted a seed that flowered infecting not just one Alabama politician but giving birth to a scandal that’s had the President and Congressmen and Senators (in both parties) at each other’s throats for two years. Meanwhile, while sitting in the shadows of the Kremlin watching the spleen double and double again, the Russians have been celebrating.
