They’re Fed Up

The instantly iconic front page of The Daily Tar Heel tells you three things about their generation:

  • They’re fed up with gun violence and school lockdowns
  • They’re fed up with politicians who protect guns, not people
  • They’re so fed up they printed the text “GUYS I’M SO FUCKING SCARED” in big, bold red type.

That no doubt furrowed a few older brows. NBC News blurred the F-word.

One former journalism professor said, “That’s how they talk.”

And how they feel.

Some Republicans faked umbrage at the fiery UNC speech by Anderson Clayton, the state Democratic Party chair:

“There has to be a reckoning in our state capital right now, y’all. Because the Republicans need to know that we are coming for them just as people right now are coming for us on our campuses, in our classrooms, in our lunchrooms and everywhere else in between. That shouldn’t be your reality in the State of North Carolina right now, and it is. We are all deathly afraid to walk into churches and libraries and movie theaters and everywhere else because of the inaction that is taking place in our state capital right now.”

One Republican demanded she apologize for “this reckless, thoughtless statement.”

I’m curious: Did you demand Trump apologize when he posted, after one of his four indictments, “IF YOU GO AFTER ME, I’M COMING AFTER YOU”?

Clayton clearly was talking about coming at you at the ballot box.

Was Trump?

No wonder you’re making it harder for young people to vote.

They’re fed up with that, too.
