The Proud Boys and Trump
The lawyer for five Proud Boys on trial for storming the Capitol on January 6 said in the courtroom: “Donald Trump called on patriots to stop the steal. We’re calling on Donald Trump to take the stand.”
Watching Trump sitting on the witness stand glaring at prosecutors, answering questions, would be entertaining – and if Trump testifies he’ll land on Fox, CNN, and set the internet on fire.
But it’s one thing to praise the Proud Boys in a tweet and another to testify for them under oath in a courtroom. It’d be entertaining – but Trump’s not about to lie down across the railroad tracks in front of that freight train.
