The MAGA meltdown over Taylor Swift explains much about politics today – and for the last 70 years.

It’s about old white men who are angry about being knocked off their perch by women, Blacks, Latinos, young people and LGBTQ people.

It’s been going on since May 1954, when the U.S. Supreme Court declared school segregation unconstitutional.

In the 70 years since, the Republican Party has turned against equal rights for all Americans, and aggrieved white Americans have turned Republican.

Their heads exploded when America elected a Black President.

Twice.

Then – gasp! – a woman was nominated for President.

We got Donald Trump and MAGA.

Now Taylor Swift has invaded the last bastion of old white men: the National Football League.

She might even be on camera at the Super Bowl.

Trump, MAGA and Fox News are in meltdown.

Now, you may be aware that I’m an old white man. And some of my best friends are old white men.

We’re not all in meltdown.

We think this change is long overdue.

The 2024 election will be Swifties vs. MAGA.

So, go Taylor.
