If Trump’s crowd had commanded D-Day, Hitler might have known to send his Panzers and Luftwaffe to Normandy.

Considering how they screwed this up, will they screw up the economy, healthcare and Social Security?

If they can’t keep a group chat secure, can they keep our troops safe abroad and Americans safe at home?

In the past, debacles like this have sent Presidents’ approval ratings into death spirals.

Witness Biden and the Afghanistan withdrawal, or Carter and the failed hostage-rescue mission.

John F. Kennedy overcame the Bay of Pigs failure because he took responsibility. His approval ratings went up.

Instead, Trump and his crowd lie, cover up and try to blame somebody else.

In politics, the worst wounds are self-inflicted.

Is this the arrow that finally fatally pierces Trump’s armor: his Strong Leader image?
