Sauce for the Goose
Right there in the middle of the page on the News and Observer’s website was an article with the Governor ripping into the newspapers for suing him for violating the ‘public records’ law – and right next to it was a second article about the Republican Party suing Roy Cooper for violating the same law.
It was awkward: The Governor was saying the newspapers suing him would lead straight to a ridiculous waste of taxpayers’ money – and six inches away his folks were threatening to file the same kind of lawsuit against his opponent.
One thing’s certain: The next time the Governor steps to the microphone and looks out across a room full of reporters he’s going to be asked: Explain to us how our suing you is a waste of taxpayers’ money – and your suing Roy Cooper isn’t?
