Romney’s Superpower
April 10, 2012 - by
Democrats better not get too giddy over the USA Today/Gallup Poll that showed President Obama taking a 51-42 lead in the top 12 battleground states (which include North Carolina).
Obama’s lead is thanks to women under 50, who now favor Obama over Mitt Romney by 2-1.
Clearly, the Republican primary fight – and controversy over issues affecting women – has hurt Romney. But remember how Romney has – for all practical purposes – won the fight: At every turn, he’s had the benefit of super-PACs pumping in money and destroying his opponents.
Now, the New York Times reports: “American Crossroads, the biggest of the Republican super PACs is planning to begin its first major anti-Obama advertising blitz of the year.”
Romney has a lot of weaknesses as a candidate. But, in politics, money can make up for a lot of weaknesses.
Obama better be ready. Or he could end up like every other opponent in Romney’s wake.
