With her right hand, Governor Perdue has to deal with the Republican legislature and a Republican challenger next year. Now she may have to put her left hand to work.
The buzz on the left – what Howard Dean memorably dubbed “the Democratic wing of the Democratic Party” – is that Senators Dan Blue and Josh Stein are moving around and that one of them may challenge her in the primary.
The party’s true-blues suspect the Governor of being a closet collaborator with the right-wing occupying forces.
She reportedly told one gathering of liberals: “I don’t know how to spell veto.”
They expect her to spell it – and use it.
