A TAP contributor writes, “Here’s an example of what slips through the cracks when a governor is distracted by his world collapsing around him:
“McCrory and his team did nothing when 400 people lost their jobs in the abrupt closing of Johnston Ambulance Service. Anybody who’s been around a hospital or nursing home in eastern NC knows that JAS is a critical part of the health-care infrastructure.
“Sadly, one of the reasons cited in news reports by the owner for the sudden closing was government red tape.
“A real governor — especially one who’s losing the fight to keep his job — should’ve stepped in aggressively to see if the state had any options or flexibility to help the business manage its situation.
“Instead, McCrory dug his HB2 hole deeper and deeper while 400 families suffered and a long-time NC business slipped away.”
