The Grinch tried to steal Christmas. Jefferson Griffin is trying to steal an election at Christmas.

Call him Grinch Griffin.

Griffin lost the Supreme Court race to Justice Allison Riggs. Repeated recounts and audits confirmed the result.

But he wants Republicans on the Supreme Court to overrule the voters’ decision, throw out 60,000 votes on registration technicalities and declare him the winner.

He thinks he can get away with because it’s the holidays, people are tired of politics and they aren’t paying attention.

He’s wrong.

Three voting-rights groups – Common Cause, Emancipate Votes and Democracy North Carolina – are paying for billboards (photo) and digital ads calling him out.

Like the Whos in Whoville, they won’t let the Grinch get away with the steal.

They said in a news release, “Griffin is pushing a dangerous, outlandish and unprecedented scheme to toss out the ballots of thousands of North Carolinians with no evidence. He seeks to overturn the 2024 election and steal a seat on the NC Supreme Court.”

Dr. Seuss’ Grinch had a heart that was “two sizes too small.”

Griffin’s judicial integrity is two sizes too small.

This Grinch isn’t fit for the bench.
