Four Years Ago

Republican National Committee chair Michael Whatley of North Carolina accidentally told the truth last week.

On a Fox News show, Whatley (photo) said, “At the end of the day, this comes down to a very simple contrast between President Trump and President Biden. Were you better off four years ago than you are today? The answer for this entire country is ‘no’.”

Then he caught himself: “I mean, ‘yes’.”

He was right the first time.

Four years ago, the ACC men’s basketball tournament was canceled.

Four years ago, you couldn’t find toilet paper in stores.

Four years ago, so many Americans were dying that hospitals stored corpses in refrigerated trucks.

Today, thanks to President Biden, America is back on its feet.

Our economy is stronger than ever. We’re building roads, bridges, computer chips and electric cars. We’ve capped the cost of insulin and provided high-speed internet to more Americans.

We’re standing up for democracy, at home and abroad.

We’re standing up to dictators and traitors, at home and abroad.

And my Wolfpack won the men’s tournament and ACC championship.

Why would we ever go back to Trump’s “American carnage”?
