Corporate Democrats, Unite!

Another sign that North Carolina Democrats aren’t taking the increasingly anti-corporate tone of the national party is a fundraiser Richard Moore is holding in Raleigh this month.

The host is John Kane, of North Hills fame. (Now that Moore has come out against incentives for Goodyear, maybe Kane can lobby him for his parking-deck subsidy.)

Many of the sponsors are pillars of the business community: a Broyhill, Holdings, Frank Daniels, Craig Davis, Bob Ingram, Roddy Jones, Sanjay Mundra and Dickey Walia (of the Soleil Center high-rise), Sherwood Smith, Charlie Winston and Steve Zaytoun.

Beverly Perdue’s fundraising focus seems to be the Old Boy network. Moore is mining the Old (& New) Money network. Both will have enough money to win. The only way a Republican can compete in the fall may be to part with several millions of his own dollars.
