Caught Between a Rock and a Hard Place
Ole Joe Biden’s lived and breathed in the swamp for 50 years; adroit, clever, making deals handed him power, power led to fame and, after his son and brother became lobbyists, led to family money.
Clever, but in a different way, standing in the spotlight, as a showman Trump’s in a league of his own. Running against Hillary, he promised he’d drain the swamp – as president boasted he was draining the swamp.
But it didn’t quite work out that way. It turns out when Trump was in the White House the swamp got bigger – columnist John Stossel reports Trump added ‘almost two million’ government jobs, filling Washington ‘with more bureaucrats.’
Running again, Trump’s telling voters elect me and this time I’ll ‘drain the swamp once and for all.’
So we’re trapped between a rock and a hard place: On one side we’ve got Trump saying he’ll drain the swamp after he made it bigger – and, on the other, Biden enjoyin’ life in the swamp.
