Good for the Biden White House!
The day after Speaker Kevin McCarthy caved in to the ultra-right and launched a bogus impeachment of the President, the White House fired back – and took a pointed jab at the media:
“It’s Time For The Media To Do More To Scrutinize House Republicans’ Demonstrably False Claims That They’re Basing Impeachment Stunt On.”
It said:
“(I)n the modern media environment, where every day liars and hucksters peddle disinformation and lies everywhere from Facebook to Fox, process stories that fail to unpack the illegitimacy of the claims on which House Republicans are basing all their actions only serve to generate confusion, put false premises in people’s feeds, and obscure the truth….”
“After nearly 9 months of investigating, House Republicans haven’t been able to turn up any evidence of the President doing anything wrong. But House Republicans led by Marjorie Taylor Greene are nonetheless opening a baseless impeachment inquiry of President Biden – despite many House Republicans openly admitting there is no evidence on which to support it.”
The media’s “balanced reporting” fails when one side lies repeatedly, creating a false equivalence between lies and the truth.
It’s like Jack has a cold, John has cancer and the headline reads: “Jack and John are Sick. Both Face Questions.”
As a wise old journalist says, “The goal ought to be to get to the truth of the matter, which means you don’t give a devil and an angel equal time.”
Biden has a troubled son who has caused him no end of grief. Nobody has shown that Biden did anything wrong.
Trump’s family of grifters made $640 million when he was in the White House and took $2 billion from the Saudis. Trump tried to overturn an election, incited an armed, violent mob to attack the Capitol and has been indicted on 91 felony charges.
