Chaos, Carnage and Cruelty
Trump doesn’t care how much chaos he creates, how much carnage he causes and how much cruelty he inflicts on people, including his own supporters.
It’s all about making himself look big, strong and powerful.
It’s all a show.
Before, it was The Apprentice. Now, it’s The President.
He makes a show of signing executive orders: Fire the FAA! Rename the Gulf of Mexico! Bring back President McKinley! Freeze federal spending! Unfreeze federal spending! Raise drug prices! End cancer research! Cancel the 14th Amendment!
Presumably, the next Democratic President can cancel the 2nd Amendment.
Trump wanted to bring shock and awe.
Americans are sure shocked. Some may be awed; many are confused and afraid.
Many are thinking: “I didn’t vote for this.”
Politicians seem frozen.
Republicans like Senator Thom Tillis don’t know whether to stand up to him or Seig Heil.
Democrats seem lost. Find “common ground”? “Pick your battles”?
Hell no.
Trump is no colossus striding atop American politics, like he wants you to think.
He barely won. He’s bleeding support every day.
Politicians should stand up to him.
Stand up like Attorney General Jeff Jackson, who sued him on birthright citizenship and freezing funds appropriated by Congress.
Fight him in Congress. Fight him in the courts. Fight him in every agency.
Fight him online, offline and in the public square.
Fight him everywhere.
Fight, fight, fight.
