Two political consultants sat arguing at the next table. The Democrat said, It’s like the mystery of the dog that didn’t bark in the night, then the Republican said, The reason the dog didn’t bark is simple – because Thom Tillis didn’t do anything wrong, then the Democrat said, He fired two aides for unethical conduct then gave them $20,000 in severance pay because he said they’d done good work – what kind of sense does that make?

The Republican leaned back, grunted, It makes more sense than Mike Easley paying his wife $180,000 a year with taxpayer’s money.

Forget Easley, the Democrat snapped, Let me ask you one question: Thom Tillis says his office did no favors for those two lobbyists his aides had affairs with – are you Republicans going to let us have an independent investigation to see if that’s true or do we have to take Thom Tillis’ word for it? The Republican said:

Tillis was helping two people who’d had their lives torn apart, one of whom is a single mom – what’s wrong with that?

To quote a Republican, the Democrat said, It’s easy to be compassionate with taxpayers’ money.

I don’t hear Walter Dalton or Joe Hackney agreeing with you, the Republican said.

And that’s the dog that didn’t bark in the night, the Democrat said. Then he added, Which proves one other thing: No matter how bad a Republican screws up a Democrat can always screw up worse.

"No matter how bad a Republican screws up a Democrat can always screw up worse."

Was that a "TAPster" that said that, Carter? :-) I notice you never mention anyone that you relate to or quote or refer to as "TAPsters". Guess Gary is the only one that has such friends.

I have to say that I agree with what he said (the quote I put on the top of this post). Kudos to him, whoever he is....even if he's not a "TAPster".
