Democrats, Republicans, Tea Partiers, anti-Tea Partiers – everybody – found something to like in last week’s primaries across the country.

I found a lesson in a special congressional election in Pennsylvania that applies to a congressional election in North Carolina – specifically, to the efforts by the State Employees Association of North Carolina to knock off Larry Kissell.

The Pennsylvania race was to fill the late John Murtha’s seat. In what is supposed to be a disastrous Democratic year, the Democrat won by 53 to 45 percent.

Now look a little deeper. The winner, Mark Critz, is more conservative than a lot of Democrats.

Just like Larry Kissell.

And like Kissell, Critz voted against health care reform.

The lesson: If you want your party to stay in the majority, you have to accept some people who may have different views from yours.

Of course, SEANC is not really interested in the Democratic Party. SEANC’s goal is to build its own membership and political clout. From that point of view, targeting Kissell makes sense.

It just doesn’t make sense for Democrats.

Your presentation here is just SOOOO telling. Regardless how a democratic candidate believes or what his stance is on issues, just having a "D" in front of his name is enough for the mindless, lock-step puppets of the democratic party.

Amazing that you would actually admit to this, Gary. I think maybe, just maybe, you've "opened mouth, inserted foot".

God help us if we are SO interested in party that we lose our focus on what is best for our country. The democratic party seems to have fallen into that category.

Sad...just absolutely sad, especially since they are in power at this point in time.

Anon: the same could easily be said about Republicans, they both are one in the same. No foot in the mouth just reality

Yes, chad, you're probably right. But, then, there is that "Change" thingy that Obama & Co. ran on. You know, NOT being like republicans and such???

All we did was vote in democrats so we could get "more of the same", it seems, think? Only, in my considered opinion...we've seen "change" for the worse.

Looks to me like everything the demos bashed repubs for during the 2008 election...including Gary...was just a ruse and being disingenuous.

The price of this
Chanel Sheep-Skin Leather is $2800, though it is just Loux Bocce bag used when doing exercises.Alexa Chung has been carrying the bocce case as an ordinary handbag, and thus I think this
Chanel Smooth Leather could also work double time for the rest of us.

I concur. Republicans are viewed as evil and self-motivated, Dem's are considered a bunch of wimps that can't get the ball moving (in any direction) and meanwhile we, the citizens, are waiting for some Teddy Roosevelt, trust-busting, green representative to step up and hit a home run.
Its obvious that the people want some for real change and not a catchy slogan. We're just hoping that something will arrive.
