Sometimes it seems like one of a President’s less enviable jobs is to be a kind of national whipping boy, an outlet for our pent up frustrations and afflictions. And even if pummeling, say, Barack Obama or George Bush won’t put people back to work it sure is satisfying to have someone to blame.

Don’t misunderstand – it’s not that the poor Presidential lambs are innocent of error. They’re not. President Obama’s crusade to remold American society has given a lot of people the willies and his spending a couple of trillion dollars to jump start the economy has turned out to be a dud not a stimulus – but at the same time there are also forces afoot in the land more powerful even than a President. Of course that doesn’t matter politically because Americans are accustomed to instant gratification and if we don’t get it – look out.

Independent voters were so incensed at President Bush two years ago they elected Obama (even in North Carolina) and now they’re so mad at President Obama they’re electing Republicans (even in Massachusetts).

These days the political tides are flowing against President Obama so fast and deep they’re drowning Democratic candidates left and right. He got 62% of the vote in Massachusetts in 2008. The Democratic candidate for Senate in Massachusetts just got 46%. That means a whopping 25% of Obama’s supporters switched sides and voted Republican. Which means heading into the fall election there’s not a safe Democratic Congressman or Senator in sight.

And what about the Republicans up in Washington?

They’re doing two things. First, they’re congratulating themselves on their new found political brilliance.

Second, like Napoleon’s mother at his coronation they’re praying, If only this lasts – until November.

Ah, yes, Carter. The American electorate is such a fickle bunch, isn't it? We can try our best to compare it to any group of people in the history of mankind, but there really is no comparison to what this great nation has or has had or will have. Your statement about "if it only lasts"...lots of truth in that, Carter. We have a very real threat to our country currently and it is not from Islamists or from greedy corporate entities or from greedy politicians. Yes, those are hurting us and have hurt us in the past in many ways. But, the biggest threat we face today is in those that want to change our country away from what has made it great in the first place. Entrepeneurship, working hard and being embarrassed when you need help from the government, doing everything we can to be responsible for ourselves and our families, being dedicated to making sure our children achieve and have been taught morals and values by those that brought them into the world in the first place...those are American values.

People argue that with citing "exceptions". Never before have we seen the people in America so reliant on government...on "hand outs"...on getting things when people can do them for themselves with a little effort. Yes, our country is hurting. People are having trouble finding jobs and keeping their families fed and roofs over their heads and so forth. This is not something new in America. This has been happening on and off for decades and decades. Government can't be the savior of everyone that goes through strife. There just aren't enough people to pay for that. And, the graft and corruption and lies and distortions and straight-out cheating on public assistance has gotten out of hand all because of "political correctness"......"Oh, we can't say anything, someone might call us a racist or not caring people...." Well, you get the picture.

I won't get an argument here. Even the far left knows I'm right. They just don't want to accept it openly.

My comment? Rome wasn't built in a day. Many of his projects are in uncharted territory, some take time to gather/convince enough support, others have to tried, tweeked, and tried again. At least he's trying. Think of this: what if the republicans were in now, those who are proposing little and doing everything they can to sabotage him at every step. So much for pushing the country forward if it were up to them. Thank God he's trying; the republicans wouldn't, if we listen to them.

Remember: few presidents don't loose seats in the mid-term elections.

Trying what? to push a health care bill,65% of Americans do not want!
Taking over banks and car companies!
Cutting special deals for big unions.
Spending us in to hell !
Throwing away money on crap and tax, China and India both said yesterday, no way.
I think a simple taxcut cold have turned the economy a round.
That's why I am a tea party person, we do not cater to any party.
My opinion vote them all out.

See, the left today believes that government is the cure to all ills in America. They have abandoned capitalism and entrepreneurship and the free market because there has been a great deal of graft and corruption there. No graft and corruption in US government....no way, right?

Government buy-outs and government take-overs and government entitlements and government jobs and more and more taxes on those that create jobs just will not get it done. We are not a socialist country. If the government takes away money from the rich, the poor suffer. Government spends everything it takes in and FAR more. It rarely helps those that are truly suffering. It normally just makes government, itself, stronger and in doing so, it makes those that govern have more power and influence and wealth.

Take a look at our leaders today in congress....both houses. Only the hated "rich" have such advantage, folks. Keep voting in the same people and we will all keep being subservient to their power.

This isn't about one party against the other. This is about a voter revolution that REQUIRES those we vote into office to be honest and be our true representatives and ultimately DO THE RIGHT THING for the citizens of America.

Voters are the key.
